Herbert Hafif
November 3, 1929 – October 20, 2019
In loving memory of Herb Hafif, the Hafif Foundation was created by his son, Greg Hafif, to celebrate and honor his father’s legacy of giving. Herb religiously supported of all types of charities with focuses varying from medical, arts, educational, gang prevention, and drug rehabilitation. During the last 35 years of his life, Herb contributed over $20 million in charitable donations which included over 3,000 scholarships. He will be missed and the Hafif Foundation aims to have just as powerful an impact.
Burnis LaDele Simon
October 5, 1960 — September 9, 2019
Love and giving was personified in Burnis. In honor of his kindness and passion to uplift the youth of disenfranchised communities, the Hafif Foundation created the Burnis Simon Scholarship Fund at the University of La Verne (ULV) in 2020. His laugh and friendship continues to be deeply missed, but his care and giving will live on.

Greg Hafif
I started the Hafif Foundation in honor of my father and all the charitable work he did during his life. Growing up with him, watching him, learning from him, working side by side with him is what has instilled in me the necessity to carry on his charitable work. This foundation is the mechanism to carry on his legacy. To help others achieve their dream of a higher education, to preserve the Arts and most importantly to help those in need. We do this by direct contributions and working with other charitable organizations to fulfill their mission.
Tom Cerafice
I’m a proud board member of the Hafif Foundation. I’ve been involved with this foundation since its inception. For 50 years, I had the fortunate privilege of having Herb Hafif as my mentor and father figure. I was able to see firsthand what it was like to work hard, make money and then pay it forward for those who are in need. I was taught by the master of doing just that! We will continue to do Herbs plan.
Carter Hafif
I’m fascinated with the environment and photography and while chasing these passions I learned of the lack of opportunity for kids to gain access to these interesting fields. My family has a proud history of giving and on the Hafif Foundation’s board I look forward to furthering that mission in new dynamic ways.
Brooke Hafif
Being a part of this foundation is an exciting path to support my goal of helping and healing communities. Everyone has the ability to empower others and I’m here to lend my ability to non-profits, clubs, and other community centered groups.
Fenja Klaus
Before his passing, I had the pleasure to know and learn from Herbert Hafif; a man that always looked for the best in people. Of the many lessons he taught me one of the most memorable was to recognize the different ways people can suffer when going through hard times so that real affective support can be provided. As a member of this board, I’ll be taking these lessons to continue his legacy of transformative change.
